ABOUT ME
BIOGRAPHY
My name is Kirkland Russell, the creator of Worship Start. I’m a keyboardist for C4 Worship and The Worship Project, located in Toronto, Canada. Also, I am a GMA award-winning song-writer and recording artist for multiple albums, working alongside artists from C4 Worship, Caves, and All Sons and Daughters.
I’ve been working in the Canadian Worship music industry since 2011—playing keyboards and synths, as well writing and recording. I started playing in Church youth group, and later branched out into performing pop music while co-founding a Live Music and Entertainment company, Yours Truly Live Entertainment. I eventually began serving as a lay leader, music director, and song-writer at my home Church, Sanctus Church. Since then, I have performed with international Christian musicians and artists such as Ben Cantelon (UK), Brooke Nicholls (Canada), Mark Masri (Canada), Ben Utecht (US), Andre Venter (South Africa), and for international organizations such as Alpha and Youth Unlimited.
I’ve been featured as an educator and instructor at many different conferences and Churches since 2016, leading workshops on MainStage, Worship preparation, sound design, synthesis, Nord Keyboards and keyboard technique. My passion for equipping and training volunteers and leaders in musical Worship has been the driving force behind Worship Start from the very beginning.
I am currently married to my beautiful wife Sarah, and we live in a little town called Ajax.
